Observations on laryngitis

People are initially sympathetic but seem to become creeped out thereafter, either by the dry-throated squawking or the fervent hand gestures.  I do sound something like a japanese horror-monster, that I perhaps crawled out of the sink or was shaken loose from an icy prison, due to a nuclear testing mishap.

But it offers a chance to work on my physical comedy.  Working in the silent movie days must have been a blast.

Also:  I’m very conscious of moments when I desperately want to respond to something in class, usually, it seems, owing to my well tread-over needs to be

a) smarter than others

b) constantly entertaining

Perhaps a vow of silence is in order, at some point; a longer vacation from speaking.
